For our growing optical modelling activities in 2074 Marin-Epagnier in Switzerland, we are looking for a
Numerical Optics Engineer
You will be an active and initiative part of a small and motivated team developing innovative computer based optical tools for new products and applications.
As main tasks you will:
- Conceive and implement (multispectral and multidimensional) optical metrology methods for process monitoring on lab and manufacturing scale. Document and promote your solutions.
- Build the bridge between physical properties of materials and surfaces, and the customer's esthetical perception. Based on optical metrology you will develop and optimize numerical models of surfaces and materials to feed into designers' rendering activities.
- Independently define and manage R&D projects internally as well as with external partners to achieve fixed objectives.
- Perform technology scouting and early state identification of the latest trends in optical metrology and modelling.
- Provide expertise on demand in above-mentioned domains.
Profil
- University level engineering education in numerical physics or computer vision.
Compétences requises
- You master optical data acquisition as well as corresponding numerical data treatment and modelling.
- Hands-on experience with image acquisition and treatment techniques.
- Experience with AI application in data reduction is an important asset.
- Experience in colorimetry and BRDF measurements and rendering tools are important assets.
- Experience in ellipsometry and thin film optics are important assets.
- Habitude of taking initiative and of working independently.
- Analytical thinking and capacity of oral and written synthesis.
- Strong motivation to take an active part in a multidisciplinary and international team for continuous improvement and innovation in products as well as technologies.
Langues
- You should be, or willing to become fluent in oral French as the main social language at work.
- Good oral and written English is a must for our scientific and engineering environment.
