The Research & Development sector of the Business Unit Quartzline at our Grenchen site develops products for the Swatch Group's well-known brands. The Software team is responsible for developing the electronic systems used in movements/watches, from the design stage through to product creation. To augment our Software team, we are looking for a Mobile Developer.

Job description

In this key role, you will be working as part of a multidisciplinary, dynamic team responsible for Software Development Kit (SDK) development of smartphone-related Android applications for the Swatch Group as part of development for connected watches. Your activities will include:

  • Drawing up software specifications for the SDK (communication protocols, watch functions, etc.) and consolidating our current expertise through the creation of appropriate documentation
  • Developing a documented and usable SDK and supplying it to selected companies for app development (HMI)
  • Ensuring efficient monitoring of developments within app development communities
  • Ensuring efficient monitoring of app development standards
  • Ensuring SDK maintenance so that they function on all smartphone types
  • Deploying a Swatch Group standard to interface with watch apps
  • Proposing quality improvements and offering innovative solutions in your various activities
  • Interacting with the different teams to develop new functionality
  • Assisting and working with the quality and testing teams to ensure quality code and debugging


  •  You are passionate about developing products that interact with connected objects (IoT)
  • You have proven expertise in developing applications on Android (Java and Kotlin),
  • You are committed, enthusiastic and ambitious in your work
  • Ideally you have experience of working in an Agile, SAFe team
  • Bluetooth Low Energy experience and iOS development is an asset

Professional requirements

  • HES/EPF-trained computer engineer or other training of an equivalent level in the same field
  • You have a complete command of native development for Android 
  • Good knowledge of Git, BitBucket, TFS or another similar repository


You have very good English skills (French skills would be an advantage)
