Human Resources Generalist (Maternity cover)

Main Purpose of the Role

The Human Resources Generalist acts as a Partner with school departments on all matters related to employee life cycle (recruitment, career development, performance management, training, departures), vacation accruals, absences management.

He/She reports to the Human Resources Manager and ensures HR services are appropriately delivered among the departments under his/her responsibility.

The HR Generalist represents the Human Resources Department and more widely the school. As such, he/she acts as a role model by remaining professional and supportive at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively contribute to the recruitment process along with Managers: define needs, establish job descriptions, advertise jobs on identified channels, screen applications, organize interviews, lead debriefings, calculate compensation and formulate offer to candidates.
  • Act as the key point of contact for HR matters and proactively and appropriately communicate key information as needed (i.e. maternity leaves calculations, change on salary, holiday entitlement calculations etc)
  • Manage client expectations by communicating project status and issues in a timely manner; resolving concerns; analyzing time and cost issues; preparing reports
  • Contribute to staff’s performance development by identifying and clarifying problems; evaluating potential solutions; implementing selected solution; coaching and counseling managers and employees
  • Review payroll data along with the HR Manager and HR Coordinator and participate in validation process
  • Prepare KPIs for the Group and Federal authorities as required
  • Comply with federal and cantonal legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions

Skills and Competencies:

  • University degree in HR or equivalent field
  • Solid previous experience as HR Generalist or Advisor
  • Loyal and customer oriented; good team spirit
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Above average drive and energy
  • Rigorous and systematic work style; result oriented and committed to meet objectives
  • Good interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills in English and in French

Previous experience as an HR Generalist/Advisor in an international environment

Prior Knowledge
