EHS Engineer - Health & Safety

Position Purpose:

The EHS Engineer is responsible for implementing local & global EHS Programs in the organization. You will be responsible for implementing, supporting, and following EHS operational controls on-site with the legal authority. You support to achievement of EHS targets in the business plan.

You will be also accountable for maintaining EHS management programs.

You will be reporting to the EHS Director.

What will you do – responsibilities:

  • Check the EHS aspects of the works in line with IWS, identify the hazards, assess the risks, and ensure control measures are implemented to maintain a healthy and safe working environment for all the employees by taking into account the legislative, industry, and JTI Global EHS requirements
  • Prepare and follow up the global/local monthly EHS reports, and legally required reports and coordinate with the related departments. Monitor the deadlines of legal permissions' and prepare the renewal applications
  • Initiate and support EHS projects, programs, and campaigns and ensure EHS aspects of the projects are in line with global and local EHS standards
  • Ensure Operating and Capital Expenditures are in line with Annual Strategic Plan
  • Develop & conduct health and safety training & orientation programs for the employees, contractor, and trainees and ensure the EHS standards are properly implemented
  • Identify the hazards and implement the risk assessment processes and the appropriate control measures to reduce these risks
  • Maintain the EHS Management System in line with ISO 45001 & 14001 standards to retain certification
  • Assist fully in the iinvestigatingdents and near misses by focusing on root cause analysis and preventive actions. Prepare and coordinate Emergency Response Plans in line with local and global guidelines
  • Follow up and coordinate EHS CAPAs (Corrective and preventive actions). Monitor and analyze inputs for effective EHS programs

Who are we looking for – requirements:

  • University degree in Engineering, (preferably in Environmental Engineering)
  • Minimum 2 years of EHS experience in a Manufacturing environment will be an advantage
  • Safety Expert Certificate (B or C level) will be an advantage
  • Environment and Risk Assessment knowledge
  • Good knowledge of MS Office programs
  • Advanced level of English
