As the technological spin-off of Solar Impulse, the first electric airplane to fly around the world, the mission of H55, is to make aviation clean, safe, and affordable.

The company’s strengths and competencies lie in developing propulsion and energy storage solutions which are modular, lightweight, and certifiable.

H55 is financed by a reputable group of investors from Silicon Valley and Switzerland, and as such, is well positioned for its next stage of its development. The company’s short-term priorities include building up out of engineering team, putting into place production facilities, and creating a north American subsidiary.

At H55, you will work with a very forward-looking team who are changing the paradigms of air transportation. H55 is composed of highly experienced engineers, entrepreneurs and managers and is seeking like mind talented professionals who understand how to couple creativity and innovation with technical and business considerations.

Your Role

We are looking for a hands-on candidate ready to pick problems and solve them with autonomy, communicate effectively and be a team player with their colleagues. You’ll benefit from guidance from our team to drive the success of H55 in your area. Our team is growing continuously and we thrive in allowing ourselves to be flexible, improve our processes and adjust our roles and responsibilities to support H55 growth.
 As the Strategic Buyer, you will  work closely with the Design Operation and Production Operations team, play a vital role in the Purchasing team in a multi-site environment (Switzerland and Canada), with a focus on building relationships with the suppliers, preparing series production and put in place new processes.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Sourcing and Procurement:

  • Scope : Electronics, Plastics, Mechanical
  • Direct Commodities: Conduct thorough analysis of direct commodity requirements and spend.
  • Sourcing Strategies: Develop, update, and implement effective sourcing strategies to optimize costs and secure reliable supply.
  • Supplier Selection: Organize and manage supplier biddings, Requests for Information (RFIs), and Requests for Quotation (RFQs). Evaluate responses and lead the supplier selection process, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and all stakeholders

Contract Management and Supplier Relationships:

  • Contracts: Negotiate, create, and manage terms and conditions for contracts with chosen suppliers.
  • Performance Management: Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to monitor and manage supplier performance against agreed-upon metrics.
  • Communication and Reporting: Maintain accurate planning documents and follow-up procedures. Clearly communicate project updates, statuses, and reports to management teams.

Market Intelligence and Reporting:

  • Market Analysis: Continuously analyze market trends and identify potential risks and opportunities within relevant commodity categories.
You profile
  • 2-4 years of experience with Electronics, Plastics or Metal purchasing
  • University degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Economics, or another related field.
  • Curiosity : We encourage continuous learning and exploration, providing opportunities to broaden your expertise and stay ahead of the curve.
  • Be an enabler: Collaborate effectively with other teams, bring solutions and driving successful outcomes.
  • Embrace the challenge: Solve complex problems with a can-do attitude, even when faced with incomplete data.
  • Think strategically: Evaluate risks and propose mitigation plans, ensuring informed decision-making.
  • Communicate with clarity: Articulate ideas and insights effectively, fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • English at advanced level, French is a plus.
