Tasks and job requirements
- Conduct cutting-edge research in the field of blockchain application to the energy and sustainability domain
- Identify emerging blockchain technologies and assess their potential impact on renewable energy sources, energy efficiency, and carbon credits trading
- Investigate blockchain's role in enhancing the transparency and traceability of sustainable and renewable energy sources
- Design a blockchain-based platform for securely sharing data and automation of processes in the energy sector
- Develop prototypes to demonstrate the feasibility of blockchain for ensuring the authenticity and integrity of data in the energy sector
- Co-supervising student projects and bachelor/master's assignments/theses
- Interacting and collaborating with research partners in the project and business partners across Switzerland and internationally
- Communicating research results to a range of audiences, including industrial partners and the scientific community (publications in journals and conferences)
- Cooperate in the acquisition of national and international research projects in the application of blockchain technology across a variety of industries and helping in conducting them
Your profile
- Master's degree in computer science with very good marks (obtained or close to being obtained)
- Experience with blockchain and in developing smart contracts
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
- Basic knowledge in the energy and/or sustainability sector
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Willingness to advance the state of the art and to communicate it at high-profile scientific venues (conference and journals)
