Senior legal counsel Head Regulatory Office

Challenging and interesting role as Legal Counsel Head Regulatory Office within the Legal & Compliance Corporate and Public Affairs Department. You will be part of an open-minded team that acts in a versatile, dynamic, and flexible working environment.

What would your role be?

• Supporting the Head L&C Corporate and Public Affairs and advising the senior management on legal and regulatory matters;
• Serving as the person in charge of Vontobel to its regulators in presenting our commitment to regulatory compliance and strong culture of integrity and transparency;
• Acting as an in-house regulatory expert, advising and supporting regulatory strategy aligned with Vontobel's business objectives, in collaboration with other departments;
• Supervising and managing preparatory activities for interactions with regulatory authorities, such as inquiries, audits, investigations and ad hoc requests which will include regular interaction with regulatory personnel, our senior management and other groups throughout Vontobel to formulate actions and track/drive their implementation;
• Establishing and ensuring an efficient governance, reporting and escalation process;

What are we looking for?

• Master degree/postgraduate degree in Law; Swiss bar exam as well as further education (e.g., LL.M.) is advantageous;
• Ideally 5+ years of experience, preferably in a bank or regulatory entity or law/consulting firm focusing on regulatory matters and/or experience with regulatory authorities;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills both in German and English; French or Italian is advantageous;
• Strong team management and high ability to lead and motivate a team for optimum performance;
• Ability to work in a high pressure environment, manage multiple matters with competing and important interests and adhere to strict deadlines;
