Physicist for test- and calibration methods in production

DECTRIS is a successful and growing company that develops and manufactures X-ray and electron cameras to spark scientific breakthroughs around the world. While photographic cameras capture visible light, DECTRIS cameras count individual X-ray photons and electrons. Our 100+ employees are located in Switzerland and the United States.
At DECTRIS, academic research meets agile industry practices. The company’s roots are deep in the scientific community and our scientists publish new research results every year. At the same time, our engineers, technicians, administrators, and commercial experts work hard to make sure our customers benefit from the latest technologies without delay.

Physicist for test- and calibration methods in production

Your Tasks

  • You will closely collaborate with the Dectris R&D groups in the development and optimization of novel calibration and test procedures for our X-ray and EM detectors. You will be involved in the analysis and improvement of the already implemented processes.

  • Complete tracking of the new products calibration development: from the algorithm definition in the early R&D project phase, up to the final implementation in production. You define test strategies and algorithms to assure a highly stable production of new Dectris detectors within the defined specifications throughout the entire product life cycle.

  • Transfer the R&D tests, algorithms and processes into the production phase. Define the metrology strategy to monitor the production processes (by means of e.g. DoE, SPC)

Your Skills

  • You hold a masters degree in Physics, Electrical engineering or in a comparable formation program related to detector systems.

  • You are motivated to optimize the test and calibration processes of our cutting-edge detectors and actively collaborate in the future products development and further implementation in production.

  • You possess comprehensive knowledge from semiconductor detector systems and ionizing radiation.

  • Previous industrial experience in analytical methods for reliability analysis, such as FMEA and SPC will be considered positively

  • Good programming skills, especially in Python.

  • Fluency in English and German (written and spoken)

  • Excellent communication skills and team player attitude

We Offer

  • A friendly company culture with a passionate team: we are proud that we were able to hold the world record calculating the digits of pi for 3 years!

  • A successful and growing high tech company in an international, scientific environment: more than half of the world's protein structures have been discovered with our detectors!

  • A competitive salary and good benefits

  • A modern office with A/C, gym, underground parking for cars and bicycles, company cars and e-bikes to borrow, in-house catering, free snacks and coffee

  • Support for professional training as well as our non-German speakers' German studies
