Particularité

The laboratory of Prof. Jens Stein at the Department of Oncology, Microbiology and Immunology (OMI) of the University of Fribourg (UNIFR)/Switzerland is looking for a motivated and skilled candidate to join our team working on distinct aspects of CD8+ T cell biology in mouse models of infection, including their interactions with lymphoid and non-lymphoid tissue microenvironments. Adaptive immune reponses are initated in lymphoid tissue such as lymph nodes, from where effector T cells spread out to infiltrate non-lymphoid tissue, where they eliminate infected target cells. After clearance of viral reservoirs, tissue-resident memory cells reside in these organs for prolonged periods of time as protective force. Our recent data have uncovered that tissue-specific properties cooperate with biochemical signals to influence the surveillance mechanisms of local immune cells, in a process involving nuclear mechanosensing. Here, we propose to further examine this phenomenon during tissue-immune cell crosstalk using novel genetic tools and innovative in vivo and ex vivo functional approaches, including spectral flow cytometry and RNA sequencing.
