Risk & Vulnerability Project and Performance Specialist

Position Purpose:

The purpose of the Risk & Vulnerability Project and Performance Specialist role is to coordinate and manage key aspects of the Global Directs Risk & Vulnerability program and other critical enterprise projects supported by the Global Direct and External Sourcing team.  The role is a critical support for the Global R&V Program Director and key liaison and interface into the Global Directs category teams, additionally into key business partner functions.  Critical to the success of the role is the ability to respond to and manage urgent business requirements and/or supply issues and work well under pressure.  The role has broad exposure across many Direct material categories, including supporting and driving tender and execution activities, supplier engagements and interfacing with senior stakeholders across critical projects.  The role also is a key conduit and support for the Global Direct and CMO Sourcing Team Performance reporting, inclusive of Financial, Project and Risk performance and the continuous improvement of team reporting, KPI’s and measurement.

Key responsibilities:

  • Risk & Vulnerability program management / coordination (air traffic control tower for critical global direct procurement projects)
  • Sourcing process management, including writing RFx documents, engaging key business partners to develop briefs and requirements, issuing and managing tenders E2E.
  • Project Management, including project team engagement / coordination, task and milestone tracking, planning & measurement.
  • Reporting, including weekly / monthly report aggregation, report generation, inclusive of management, project and category reports.
  • Business Engagement, key business partner communications development and presentations, category and project team engagement and support.
  • Risk landscape ongoing support, key interface on behalf of Global Direct Procurement team into broader Risk programs, Strategy & Governance teams.

Sourcing/Supplier Process

Manage the sourcing and supplier selection process, including creating a sourcing project, researching and developing supplier shortlist, and assembling and managing RFI project team through RFX/RFI process for smaller local sourcing events, including:

  • Planning and executing sourcing-related activities in Ariba eSourcing
  • Conducting supplier qualifications, including scoring assessment results, analyzing information to evaluate risks, and completing due diligence reviews, as per globally defined standards and policies
  •  and implementing Source Plan based on agreed upon performance metrics
  • Monitoring and reporting current local category market conditions and technology roadmaps; including identify supply and demand challenges and opportunities
  • Review assigned spend to ensure saving targets are being met
  • Input to project reporting as needed

Contract Negotiation

  • Drive local contract negotiation and management,
  • Develop key performance measures for smaller, local suppliers and negotiate to award longer-term strategic contracts that result in significant cost reduction and improved service levels
  • Compile agreements according to standard or non-standard services based on local law and global contracting standards and review counter changes with Legal, based on global policies;
  • Secure approval from proper signatories before confirming and publishing
  • Update, verify, and publish contract content in the Contract Management Systems (CMS)
  • Provide advice and assistance about company contracts policy, templates, procedures and purchasing terms compliance, including supplying necessary contract guidelines

Supplier/Stakeholder Relationships

  • Manage local supplier relationships and performance, including dispute resolution
  • Communicate project specifications and requirements to potential vendors, and coordinate with them about project follow-up, timelines, troubleshooting, communication of terms and agreements, standards, and testing requirements
  • Work closely with the manufacturing and engineering teams to proactively identify and develop external capability to support strategic sourcing opportunities
  • Manage long-term relationships with selected key strategic suppliers to form deep, mutually-beneficial partner relationships
  • Facilitate communication among suppliers to ensure relationships are delivering their ongoing and intended optimal value

Operational Procurement Support

  • Respond to operational procurement issues, such as supply disruption, quality or other issues at sites and other large facilities that may affect the production, quality, compliance or safety of product, operation, equipment or facility. 
  • Escalate and document significant or recurring issues with suppliers, supply chain, within Procurement or other parts of CSL that are (potentially) cause operational or quality issues or otherwise create unnecessary risk. 

Educational background and past experiences

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, engineering, supply management, or related field preferred
  • Diverse and demonstrable experience across Global Sourcing / Procurement processes, Project Management coordination / tracking, Senior stakeholder engagement & presentations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, solve problems, make recommendations, and draw valid conclusions in a timely and appropriate manner
  • Strong communication skills, oral and written, presentations, report writing and generation.  Ideally demonstrable experience liaising with multiple cultures / regions.
  • Local language fluency; English language preferred
