The WTO is looking for a Website Specialist to be hired for a temporary assignment, initially for 3 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and divisional need.

General Functions

Under the supervision of the Head of Operations, Internet and Intranet, located in the Information and External Relations Division, the incumbent will provide support to the Web team.

This comprises:

- developing new functionality for the website and intranet as needed

- updating and improving the WTO website and intranet, often under tight deadlines

- updating existing code to bring it into line with modern best practice

- finding and editing images

- making updates and corrections from substantive experts

- requesting and processing translations

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Completion of secondary education. Formal training in web technologies or a related area is required - a relevant university degree is highly desirable.

Technical knowledge and skills:

Detailed knowledge of web technologies and databases. This includes HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, SQL, JQuery, ASP.NET, Bootstrap.

Detailed knowledge of WordPress and Drupal

Detailed knowledge of Adobe applications, particularly Dreamweaver and Photoshop.

Behavioural skills:

Excellent planning and organizational skills including ability to meet strict deadlines.

Ability to multitask and work under pressure while paying attention to detail.

Good communication skills including ability to relay information and communicate in a clear and precise manner.

Ability to work independently as well as cooperate with others as a member of a team.

Ability to build relationships with colleagues in the organization.

Work Experience:

Minimum of 5 years direct practical experience in managing, updating and developing websites. Experience working on large

multilingual sites would be an asset.

Languages:

Fluent in English or French (the working languages of the web team). Proven ability to work WTO's other working languages

would be a strong asset. WTO's working languages are English, French and Spanish.
