Material Assessment Agile Manager

Who are we?

There is a vacancy within the Scientific and Regulatory Affairs Department (SRA) at JT International SA (JTI), for a Material Assessment Agile Manager.

As a key member of our team, the ideal candidate will be an open-minded and flexible team player, demonstrating a results-oriented approach. We seek an individual capable of integrating technical and scientific expertise with proven problem-solving skills. The primary purpose of this role is to support SRA's responsibility of ensuring that ingredients and materials used to manufacture our products are in compliance with our internal guidelines and with all applicable local market regulations from supplier communication to the change order in SAP. The role implies good communication skills to ensure a close cooperation with relevant functions and external stakeholders.

As a Material Assessment Agile Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Provide technical and scientific regulatory interpretation worldwide pertaining to JTI products. Conduct regulatory compliance checks for potential new ingredients and assess product regulatory compliance for product launches in new markets, also support the JT Group ingredient evaluation program
  • Collaborate with Agile Testing & Packaging Assessment team to construct and perform material testing to verify that SRA-related information
  • Responsible for the material qualification, including SRA input in PLM and the Change Order approval in SAP
  • Retrieve new component formulations from JTI worldwide suppliers and manufacturers under appropriate confidentiality arrangements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • University degree in a scientific field, preferably chemistry, biology, biochemistry or toxicology
  • Proven experience in the tobacco OR consumer goods industry
  • Knowledge in worldwide regulations and standards concerning tobacco products, reduced risk products and electrical consumer goods
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to represent the department in cross-functional team meetings, building and maintaining effective working relationships
  • Strong team player with excellent English communication skills (both written and oral); proficiency in other foreign languages is advantageous
  • Proficient in common PC software applications
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize work to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards
  • Agility knowledge is an asset
