IATA is committed to achieving net zero CO2 emissions by 2050. In our Sustainability and Economics division we take a holistic approach to this challenge and seek to combine subject matter expertise with a cross-functional approach to leverage on all knowledge within the team.
Net zero for aviation requires a no-stones-unturned approach and IATA must research all options and opportunities to help bring to fruition the suite of solutions from now to 2050 and beyond. The ramp-up of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) is the key driver for our industry to be able to decarbonize but we need to ensure maturity of all other solutions related to reduced fuel burn, new energy solutions such as hydrogen or electric, carbon capture or related technologies and programs. This requires substantial work across the value chain and bringing together stakeholders and industry experts to progress research, trials, validation, and operating specifications.
Reporting to the Assistant Director Net Zero Research, you will be
part of a multifaceted team which covers all these priorities. In your specific

associated with all the stages of the entire life cycle of products, services,
and processes, i.e., from raw material through manufacturing, distribution, and
use, to the recycling or final disposal of the materials. You will be responsible for determining best practices for life
cycle evaluations, developing clear proposals to move forward as industry, as
well as tracking progress and identifying risk-mitigation solutions.
Lead the development of best practices for life cycle evaluation of SAF solutions and other net zero solutions including hydrogen, battery, direct air capture and carbon offsets
Work with Sustainability Certification Schemes to ensure alignment and global harmonization where appropriate.
Develop and maintain databases on qualification criteria and eligibility
Define availability of net zero solutions to support transition milestones
