Commissioning Engineer (High Voltage) (f/m/d)


Hitachi Energy, High Voltage Products, is renowned worldwide as a specialist for power transmission and distribution. The Service unit is responsible for the worldwide after sales support of generator circuit-breaker (GCB) systems and gas insulated switchgears (GIS), including training, installation and commissioning, scheduled maintenance, added value services, troubleshooting, extensions, retrofits and replacements.

Join our team in Zürich as a Commissioning Engineer for Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) systems.
In this key position, we offer you plenty of free space for your ideas as well as extensive travels - including longer and very interesting stays abroad. Being the contact person for our customers, you will be close to the products and will participate directly at the construction site.

Your Responsibilities

  • Be in charge of the Commissioning / testing of the system in cooperation with the customer representatives

  • Ensure the correct function of the system in accordance with the specifications and the scope of supply

  • Spot and immediately report any deviations to the engineering specifications, inputs or targets

  • Plan and implement corrective actions in cooperation with Hitachi Energy project manager or lead engineer

  • Ensure that all activities are carried out according to site safety regulations and procedures to avoid any accidents

  • Further you ensure that the site environmental protection measures are followed

  • Participate at site meetings as required by the various site organizations

Your background

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanics or a related field or relevant experience

  • First experience in Commissioning and/or Control System Engineering 

  • Fluent German and English language skills

  • Independent personality with the ability to master challenges 

  • Having site service experience is a plus 

  • You are willing to work on missions around the globe (up to 80% of your time)
