Our client, an international company specialized in the food industry, located in the area of Zurich, is currently looking for a dynamic and motivated Data Analyst & Category Buyer (m/f) to start as soon as possible.

Description

The successful candidate will act both as a Senior Purchasing Analyst for the Global Indirect Spend organization, offering full insight and influence in all the sourcing & purchasing activities globally performed for the various categories as well as taking on the role of Category Buyer, providing hands on sourcing activities for the logistic category with both regional and global scope.

The Senior Purchasing Analyst develops and runs reports on regular and ad-hoc basis on the measurable KPIs for the business, as well is keeping the role of continuous improvement manager for the systems and tools with the objective to allow the Indirect Spend Sourcing and Procurement teams to make fact-based decisions.

Key responsibilities include (for Category Buyer):

  • Manage Spend analyses
  • Develop and propose a sourcing strategy for the categories in scope above a certain value either for a region or globally
  • Manage medium complex tactical & strategic files
  • Works closely with Cross Functional Teams (QA, legal, Supply Chain, Local Buyers.) in order to capture the needs of cross-departments
  • Run market research, RFx, tender analyses and proposes interim tender allocation focusing on cost management (TCO), negotiates commercial and legal terms with the short-listed suppliers, proposes final supplier awards and prepares/negotiates contracts incorporating CFT inputs
  • Follows up and ensure that contract are correctly implemented
  • Manages the supplier relationships for the scope of Framework Agreements (price revisions, rebates invoicing, escalations for complaints, annual review meetings, etc)
  • Where applicable creates system contracts and system price lists
  • Build market knowledge for the categories in scope, monitors new solutions and proposes choices to the cross functional teams
  • Follows market trends and legislative changes and implement purchasing policy and best practice
  • Provides input and expertise in all relevant improvement and development projects (footprint analysis, make or buy, cost efficiency, etc.)

Key responsibilities include (for Purchasing Analyst):

  • Support the Indirect Spend Purchasing Department with data enhancement, data collection, analyses and reporting on regular and ad-hoc basis
  • Lead cross-functional teams to drive purchasing initiatives and improve bottom line performance
  • Maintains current and accurate understanding of a broad base of commodities, service categories and general business conditions.
  • Track material/service costs, and performance using approved metrics and tools.
  • Analyze trends and makes corresponding sourcing decisions that contribute directly to the company's competitive position Supports projects and initiatives
  • Assists with systems user training and technology implementation including regional data collection and reporting
  • Assists in maintaining purchasing guidelines, data and systems
  • Play and active role in relevant projects

Profile

  • Successfully completed Higher Education
  • Solid experience in a similar role with focus on analysing data
  • Experience in international sourcing is helpful
  • Project Management experience preferably in a multi-plant or international environment.
  • Able to prioritize, strong communication skills and work under pressure as a team player
  • Analytical, solution oriented and able to deal with a fast moving and multicultural environment
  • Fluency in English is a requirement
