For our client, a well-known global Bank in Geneva, we are currently looking for a
You will play a central role being in connection with all the key functions of the bank: Front Office, Operations, Compliance and Legal, and will have as main responsibility to coordinate, support and ensure the tax related processes (FATCA, QI, CRS etc.) are implemented and adhered to.
As an expert you will be expected to be able to advise and provide guidance on all aspects of tax related process and regulations and will rapidly build a recognized and valued expertise.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Member of the internal tax team, supporting the bank's WM business and stakeholders to ensure tax compliance and adherence to tax policies (both global and local)
- Advise on tax process exceptions and complexities with emphasis on delivering comprehensive expertise
- Drive operational efficiencies while maintaining high quality standards
- Continually review operational tax processes to identify areas for enhancement
- Provide documentation, system update and reporting for QI, FATCA, CRS
- Conduct controls for swiss withholding tax and payments
- Coordinate tax specific advise with external vendors, where needed
- Identify and manage risk situations, escalating where appropriate
- Help to develop awareness of tax related topics across internal teams
- Proactive support on tax training initiatives / undertake cross training with other members of the team
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- High level of familiarity/knowledge of tax law and compliance across multiple jurisdictions
- Strong teamwork and organisational skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to reconcile complex files
- Excellent level of English (min. Advanced level)
- Strong customer relationship, communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of multicultural teams
- Proficient PC skills, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
- Problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage workflow and priorities while operating in a fast paced environment
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to quickly access and utilize the full range of computerized account and product information systems within the Bank’s applications
EXPERIENCE
- At least 5 years of financial fervices experience tax related role within financial services sector with ideally a background in Tax / Compliance / Legal
- Working knowledge of Avaloq is a plus
- Working knowledge of the Bank’s products and services as well as a firm understanding of the regulations, policies and procedures
- Ability to develop a good knowledge of the customer base, with sensitivity to specific customer needs in order to establish a strong rapport with both customers and individuals in operating areas throughout the Bank
