This role will be directly leading the Software Engineering team in order to build, run and maintain the next generation of Symbios developed software with a strong commitment to quality, customer satisfaction, relevance and effectiveness of implemented solutions.

Key responsibilities :

1. Lead the Software Engineering team, strategy and all related projects
2. Own, execute and improve all processes related to Software Development
3. Be the owner of all externally and internally used software and tools developed by Symbios
4. Maintain, monitor and improve the computing platform for the design of our custom prothesis (management of orders, medical imaging segmentation, 3D orthopaedic planning, device customization, etc.), including interfaces to ERP and manufacturing processes
5. Ensure and maintain the certification of all Symbios’ software, some of them being classified as medical devices according to EU-MDR and US-FDA (class IIa)
6. Strongly collaborate with key opinion leaders and Symbios leadership, product engineering, custom design, product management, regulatory affairs and quality assurance teams
7. Manage medical image transfer solution as well as the processing of incoming medical images
8. Plan and manage the financial, human and material resources
9. Ensure high employee engagement within the department, manage and evaluate direct reports, while ensuring efficient talent acquisition and retention.
10. Be a role model and advocate of Symbios' corporate culture, core values and value proposition.

Profile we are looking for:

• Master’s degree in Software Engineering or relevant field.
• 10 years of experience in software development, including at least 5 years in development of medical device software
• 5 years of people management experience
• Knowledgeable and experienced with webservices/e-commerce, microservices, database analysis, artificial intelligence, security and C
• Experience in certification of medical devices especially according to US-FDA requirements
• Knowledge of medical 3D imaging and related algorithms (ITK/VTK) a strong plus
• Knowledge and experience with Artificial Intelligence (deep learning, etc.) is a plus
• Strong people manager skills with proven capability to empower, motivate and develop others.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong leadership presence, while being able to influence and get results at all levels in the organization.
• Languages: Fluent in French and English is a must. German is a plus.
