FIBA, with global headquarters in Mies/VD Switzerland, is the world governing body of basketball and an independent association formed by 212 National Basketball Federations throughout the world.
FIBA has a truly global reach with five Regional Offices worldwide to support National Federations in their efforts to develop Basketball on the ground. FIBA is a non-profit organisation and recognised as the ultimate authority in basketball by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
Within a dynamic finance team and a human-sized structure, you will be managing the accounts of 7 legal entities as well as a team of 4 people. This role is a temporary position (maternity cover).
Your Key Responsibilities will include:
- Lead the accounting function from daily operation to monthly and yearly closing
- Ensure accuracy of analytical accounting
- Prepare / Review the monthly payments’ run
- Manage a team of 3 accountants
- Prepare and/or review Tax/VAT returns and other statistics
- Coordination of the quarterly and annual closing process with FIBA Regional Offices and entities
- Review the reporting packages of FIBA Regional Offices and entities to ensure completeness and accuracy
- Prepare the complete set of statutory financial statements
- Support the establishment of the complete set of consolidated financial statements
- Ensure internal control system is up to date and documentation is appropriate
- Manage the full audit process including interim, statutory and consolidation audits
- Lead operation of the finance ERP system
Experience and skills required:
- Brevet Fédéral in Accounting with 3 to 5 years’ qualified experience
- Good knowledge of financial vs analytical accounting concepts
- Demonstrated experience as an ERP superuser (ideally SAPB1) and or in finance IT related projects
- Knowledge of Swiss VAT, tax and accounting regulations (IFRS is a plus)
- Able to respect a high level of confidentiality
- Team Management experience
- Good communication skills
- Hard-worker, hands on, precise, organized and taking initiative
Requited languages:
Fluent written/spoken English and French.
Any additional language is a plus
