The Settlement specialist has for main objective the good execution of all settlement transactions on various products (Securities, Funds, FX/MM, Derivatives), the strong oversight of the foreign team and strong involvement on project as subject matter expert (SME). He works in association with the other officers in a spirit of complementarity of the tasks.

What you will do:

Impact on the Business

  • Guaranty the proper execution of the transactions’ settlement, respecting the directives and procedures in force
  • Guaranty the proper booking of various transactions link to onshore settlement activity and products such as TRS, DVP/RVP Bank portfolio.
  • Download and dispatch various documents provided by the Fund Administrators.
  • Support foreign teams, follow-up and investigation issue
  • Control of the activities done by the foreign teams
  • Provide efficient, timely and precise responses to all inquiries raised by external/internal counterparties
  • Manage repo and reverse-repo transactions to support treasury activity from the inception to the finalization and including collateral management
  • Participate to various project link to the activity as SME
  • Run the regulatory control link to the activity
  • Raised, follow and monitor any potential IT incidents
  • Complete end of day controls

Operational Effectiveness & Control

  • Develops an understanding of the value their role contributes to their function.
  • Develops an understanding of how their tasks may impact others negatively (e.g. understands the wider impact a scheduling or cost mistake might have on their manager and colleagues).
  • Notices procedures/ materials or actions that seem out of date and highlights these (e.g. email distribution lists out of date, processes no longer used.) while follow existing procedures.
  • Escalates errors and proposes mitigation actions and participates to implement them.

  • Demonstrates willingness to bring ideas to the table and proposes workable solutions where improvements are needed.
  • Reacts positively to changes.
  • Remains client driven while protecting the bank from risk and maintains effective control standards.
You should apply if you have:
  • Commercial degree, CFC bancaire or equivalent. Ideally 5 years’ experience
  • Knowledge of the banking industry
  • Specific financial knowledge : Securities Settlement, Funds Settlement, FX & Money Market and Derivatives
  • Strong operations knowledge
  • Knowledge of English and French are requested. Any other language would be a plus
  • Analytical skills and well organized
  • Computer skills: Avaloq, Swift, MS Office
  • Good communication skills, team player and client oriented
  • Polyvalent and fast-learner : ability to quickly adapt to multiple tasks and evolving working situations
