Advisor and Interpreter Pool Manager 80% (m/f/d)



As an integral part of the Migration and Integration department of French-speaking Switzerland, "se comprendre" is Caritas Switzerland’s community interpreting service: professional, accessible and committed. We create the conditions for reliable and respectful communication between migrants and institutions. By ensuring equitable access to information and facilitating mutual understanding, we contribute daily to fairness and social cohesion. We operate in the cantons of Fribourg, Jura and the French-speaking part of the canton of Bern. Our team consists of a coordination unit and more than 150 interpreters/intercultural mediators. We are looking for a dynamic person to lead the strategic development and ensure the operational and human follow-up of our interpreter pool.

Your tasks

  • Coordinate and develop the interpreter pool according to the needs and directions of the service
  • Recruit and integrate new interpreters
  • Be the main contact person for interpreters and ensure the flow of information between the field and the service
  • Monitor interpreter staff and support the various stages of their journey
  • Ensure the quality of services and handle complaints
  • Lead and coordinate strategic projects related to interpreter activities, conduct necessary analyses and make recommendations

Our requirements

  • Higher education in human resources, management, occupational psychology, social sciences, administration or an equivalent field, ideally complemented by training in personnel management
  • Training or experience in conflict management
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Experience in recruitment and staff development
  • Autonomy, organisational skills, rigour and dynamism
  • Proven communication and project management skills
  • Fluency in French and German
  • Desired knowledge of migration issues

The workplace is in Fribourg.
Start date: immediate or to be agreed.
