Hiring 2024 Engineering Internship, Engineering Operations - Luzern, CH

Responsibilities:

  • We are seeking individuals with knowledge on one or more of the next engineering disciplines: Software, Mechanical, Systems, Robotics, Flight Physics, Autonomy, Electrical, and Structures or related experience.
  • The exact program engagement shall be defined at or near the start of the internship.
  • The individual shall actively contribute to a team in a fast-paced, competitive and self-directed environment.
  • Support the relevant engineering team in performing their work using agreed engineering methods.
  • Help write technical reports that are accurate, clear, and comprehensive to be peer reviewed by other engineers.
  • Assist the other engineers in developing standardized engineering tools and methods and preparing for technical interchange meetings or program reviews.
  • Depending on program engagement, the individual may support test preparation, execution, and reporting results to validate and verify components meet requirements and specifications.
  • Maintain good communication with peers and leads when onsite or remote.
  • Focus on fixing problems when they arise.
  • Based on the specific field of interest of the candidate, they may get exposure to the work of the engineering operation team.
  • The duration of an internship typically lasts 24 weeks (3 to 4 months)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering or related.
  • A strong academic record.
  • Enrollment in bachelor’s program with a focus in Engineering or a related field
  • Experience contributing to a team in a fast-paced/comparative and/or self-directed environment
  • Background knowledge in one of the following areas:
  • Aerospace/General Aviation
  • Flight Physics
  • Aerostructures
  • Computer Science
  • Autonomy
  • Robotics
  • Mechanical Systems
  • Propulsion
  • Manufacturing
  • Systems Engineering
  • Results-driven, take initiative and ownership to accomplish work.
  • Ability to manage multiple topics and projects in a fast-paced environment and deal with different internal & external stakeholders from different domains in the organization.
  • Ability to work in a fluid environment and foster a strong collaborative spirit.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to present and communicate to partners.
  • Must be eligible to work in Switzerland with a valid Swiss passport or work permit or should be an EU/EFTA national with a valid passport to enable work permit application.
  • Fluent in English: verbal and written. Additional languages would be an advantage.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Enrollment in a Master’s or PhD program
  • Participation in extracurricular activities

Physical Requirements:

  • This internship position will be based at our Aurora Swiss Aerospace office in Luzern, Switzerland for a minimum of 3 days a week.
  • This position may require some domestic travel.
