The Position

In Roche’s Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development organisation (pRED) , we make transformative medicines for patients in order to tackle some of the world’s toughest unmet healthcare needs. At pRED, we are united by our mission to transform science into medicines. You will join Roche’s Institute of Human Biology (IHB) , an organisation within pRED whose goal is to harness and advance the use of human model systems in drug discovery and development, as well as personalised medicine. Our interdisciplinary research bridges academic and pharmaceutical research, connecting biologists, engineers, and data scientists.

The Opportunity

In the role of Senior Principal Lab Technician*, your contributions will be key to our success:

  • Spearhead the development and implementation of innovative laboratory techniques, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

  • Collaborate closely with scientists to design and conduct experiments, providing critical data that informs the direction of research projects.

  • Lead by example in the laboratory, maintaining meticulous records and championing best practices in lab safety and procedure.

  • Act as a mentor and technical advisor, sharing your expertise and promoting a culture of continuous learning and skill advancement.

  • Drive initiatives to optimize lab processes and technologies, staying abreast of the latest scientific advancements to keep our research at the forefront.

Who You Are

You are an ideal candidate if you have:

  • Extensive hands-on experience in a laboratory setting, with proficiency in a wide range of assays, methods, and techniques.

  • A deep understanding of experimental design and the ability to independently troubleshoot and optimize protocols.

  • Demonstrable experience in mentoring and knowledge transfer within a lab environment.

  • A strong sense of ownership and responsibility for your work, with a commitment to delivering results that exceed expectations.

  • The capacity to work collaboratively across teams and disciplines, building strong relationships and effectively communicating your findings.

  • A passion for staying connected to the science, actively engaging in the scientific community to foster a vibrant culture of innovation.
