Intern Financial Compliance (all genders)

Intern Financial Compliance (all genders)

Today, Lonza is a global leader in life sciences operating across three continents. While we work in science, there’s no magic formula to how we do it. Our greatest scientific solution is talented people working together, devising ideas that help businesses to help people. In exchange, we let our people own their careers. Their ideas, big and small, genuinely improve the world. And that’s the kind of work we want to be part of.

The intern joins our Financial Compliance team to assist in monitoring Lonza internal controls over financial reporting. They are key to ensure the accuracy of reporting, meeting external obligations and protecting the company’s assets and resources. With your commitment you contribute to the success of our mission to embed a pragmatic, risk-based control framework and a strong controls mindset across the organization.

The intern will work closely with senior members of the Financial Compliance team to gain a thorough understanding of internal controls, financial regulations and best practices. Members of the Compliance Function will not only gain experience with various compliance responsibilities, but also have exposure to a broad range of financial processes.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the Financial Compliance team with testing of selected financial controls
  • Assist in evaluation of quality of the controls performed against requirements
  • Document performed assessments to ensure an auditable trail
  • Assist in ad-hoc analysis, reviews, and follow-ups for identified key issues
  • Help providing summary conclusions on findings and recommendations to drive gap resolution
  • Assist with coordination of stakeholder meetings to ensure alignment
  • Assist with administrative and any other related tasks

Key requirements:

  • You must be enrolled (for the duration of the internship) in a Bachelor's degree program in Finance, Economics, Law, Business Administration, or other science-related fields.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Good command of MS-Office applications (Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Good communication skills with the ability to collaborate efficiently in a virtual work environment
  • Commitment, ability to work independently, attention to detail

Every day, Lonza’s products and services have a positive impact on millions of people. For us, this is not only a great privilege, but also a great responsibility. How we achieve our business results is just as important as the achievements themselves. At Lonza, we respect and protect our people and our environment. Any success we achieve is no success at all if not achieved ethically.

People come to Lonza for the challenge and creativity of solving complex problems and developing new ideas in life sciences. In return, we offer the satisfaction that comes with improving lives all around the world. The satisfaction that comes with making a meaningful difference.
