SAP ABAP Engineer Description

We are looking for an expert Tech Software Engineer to work closely with our client’s ABAP Engineering team with excellent know-how of SAP’s ABAP programming language and profound HANA database knowledge.

As a Tech Software Engineer you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing and maintaining a large z/OS mainframe-based application portfolio, consisting of batch and online services, which plays a crucial role in our day-to-day operation. The current mainframe z/OS-centric setup is seeing a fundamental change in the next years, as our client are heading towards a cloud-based setup, which gives you the chance to be part of this transition and its challenges from the very first moment.

Responsibilities

• Engage in full cycle software development including requirements, design, implementation, and support of systems used by our business partners
• Work closely with the business and technology partners to design best-in-class solutions and drive their implementation
• Develop and deliver high quality software for the Cash Accounting & Client Cash Management area and its projects
• Develop and maintain technical documentation

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a development & analytical role
• Comprehensive experience in the ABAP development with SAP systems, in particular Banking Services 9.0 or preferably with S/4 HANA Transactional Banking
• In-depth understanding of and hands-on experience with OO ABAP, ABAP CDS view, BADIs/BAPIs, User Exits/enhancements, workflow
• Excellent troubleshooting, debugging, problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve software defects and issues
• Proficient communication skill in English is mandatory, German language skill is a significant advantage

Nice to have

• Experience in Banking Services 9.0 or preferably with S/4 HANA Transactional Banking
• Experience in FS-AM Module
• Background in S/4 HANA performance tuning
• Hands-on-experience in Custom Code Migration from SAP ERP to SAP S/4HANA
• Experience in S/4 HANA Greenfield/Brownfield implementation
• S/4 HANA knowledge on the AZURE Cloud Platform
