Senior Systems Engineer Remote Access


Your Mission:


As a Senior Systems/Software Engineer Remote Access you will work on improving our Remote Access services that include a Client VPN as well as a ZTNA solution. The Client VPN solution is deployed at scale gloabbly and has proven itself as a valuable service to connect remote users to their cooperate network. Our ZTNA service is the new kid on the block; it uses the priniciple of Zero Trust to provide fine-grained access to applications in a granular way.


You will be involved in projects from their concept phase all the way through to deployment and operations. As part of a highly-skilled engineering team you will work in the following areas:

 


  • Integration of OEM software into the Open Systems SASE platform with 10'000+ deployments worldwide. These deployments are on servers in our customers' premises, in our customers' cloud and our own k8s based cloud.

  • Deep understanding of the OEM software and a responsibility to constantly improve it by a close collaboration with the vendor.

  • Build a service around the OEM software including deployment, configuration management, tooling and monitoring.

  • Write documentation for operations as well as education.

 

In addition to your work in a Development team, you will become certified as a Mission Control Engineer, providing you with knowledge in a wide range of networking and security topics. This will also give you the opportunity to visit our Network Operations Center in Honolulu (Hawaii, USA) for 3-month deployments.


Your Qualifications:


For this position, we are looking for candidates who are passionate about networks, automation, and complex problem-solving.



  • Higher education (university) with a degree in Computer Science or a related field

  • 5+ years of work experience in a related field

  • Experience with networking technologies and protocols (e.g. dynamic routing, firewalling, TCP/IP, ...)

  • Experience with Linux or UNIX-based operating systems

  • Experience in software engineering with scripting languages (e.g. Bash, Perl, Python) and a compiled language (e.g. Go, C#, C++)

  • Proficiency in English


Bonus Skills:



  • Practical experience in Go, Python, Perl or Bash

  • Expertise with authentication protocols like OAuth2, SAML, OpenID, LDAP

  • Expertise in Cisco AnyConnect / ASA products

  • Knowledge of network security concepts and practices

  • Knowledge of software and system testing practices

  • Familiarity with agile development cycles
