THE POSITION

Are you ready to apply your academic knowledge in a fast-paced international energy business? Join Varo’s headquarters in Baar as an Intern in our Business Control team and work side-by-side with professionals shaping the energy transition. You’ll gain unique insight into the financial engine of a dynamic organization, with exposure to senior management and meaningful project work from day one.

This 12-month internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in financial controlling and reporting, helping you bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world practice. You’ll be immersed in our monthly financial close and reporting cycles, support data-driven decision-making, and contribute to building reporting tools and dashboards that influence investment and performance management at the highest level.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support monthly controlling and reporting activities for Opex and Capex

• Lead the creation and automation of internal management reports

• Contribute to the enhancement of our financial database and transparency

• Assist in the monthly close process: accruals, reconciliations, completeness checks

• Prepare reporting packages for senior management

• Collaborate with Finance, Data Science, and local controlling teams

• Engage in planning, audit, investment, and performance review processes

• Contribute to ad hoc tasks and analysis supporting strategic decision-making

  This internship offers a hands-on experience, combining financial reporting with real-time business impact. Your work will directly support the group’s financial health and operational efficiency.
  

  Your profile - Essential

  knowledge, skills &

  abilities

  • High technical proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Fluent in English; other languages are a plus

  • Strong analytical skills and a detail-oriented, problem-solving mindset

  • Ability to work with large datasets and develop reporting tools

  • Curious, proactive, and team-oriented personality

  • Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., M and Dax, Python, SQL) or statistics is an advantage
    

    Other essential requirements

    • Ongoing or recently completed Bachelor’s/Master’s studies in Business Administration, Accounting, Banking & Finance, Economics, or similar

    • Completion of at least four semesters of your degree

    • Availability for a 12-month full-time internship
