What you’ll do

Your responsibilities

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on the development, installation and commissioning of fast-pulsed systems.
• Contribute to ongoing R&D efforts, including optical fiber sensors, coating technologies and related innovations.
• Conduct numerical simulations (e.g PSpice, electromagnetic and thermal analyses).
• Prepare test setups and perform electrical and RF measurements.

Your profile

• Background in electrical engineering or similar;
• Experience with electromagnetic simulation tools and analogue circuit simulations (e.g. Comsol, CST, Spice);
• Experience with electrical measurement equipment (e.g. oscilloscope, LCR meter, VNA);
• Your studies focused on Electrical or Electronic Engineering.

Your skills

• Skilled in using programming and software tools to process, analyse and visualise complex datasets;
• Ability to document simulation and test results accurately;
• Motivation to work in a multidisciplinary and international environment;
• Spoken and written English, with a commitment to learn French.

Be sure to meet the eligibility criteria

• You are a national of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State . Currently, we cannot consider applications from Pakistani and Lithuanian nationals for positions with a 2026 start date, as the ceiling defined under Article II.5 of the Associate Membership Agreement has been reached.
• By the application deadline, you have a master’s degree with 2 to 6 years of professional experience since graduation or a PhD with a maximum of 3 years of professional experience since graduation. You are not eligible with only a bachelor’s degree.
• You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
• Please pay attention to the additional criteria and requirements for this specific position and mentioned above.
