Information Security Operational Analyst

Zurich is currently searching for an Information Security Operational Analyst to work in our Information Security team that will report to the Cyber Security Senior Manager out of our Zurich North America Headquarters in Schaumburg, IL.

The Operational Analyst will drive IT risk reduction, security, and compliance in support of business objectives. This includes, but is not limited to, conducting 3rd party risk assessments, creating and publishing security awareness content, ensuring compliance with IT Security policies and logging exceptions, providing support for security response processes, control assurance for IT service providers, and providing technical feedback on IT security to internal customers.

In addition, this person may assist in the implementation of information security policies, standards, and programs consistent with local, regional, and global strategy.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 0 years of experience OR
  • Associate degree with 2 or more years of experience in the IT Security or IT Operations area OR
  • Zurich Insurance Certified Apprentice including an Associate degree with 2 or more years of experience in the IT Security or the IT Operations area OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent with 4 or more years of experience in the IT Security or IT Operations area

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Network Administration, Network Security or Information Security and Assurance
  • Ability to communicate security-related concepts to technical and non-technical employees
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
  • PowerBI experience beneficial
  • Experience with network troubleshooting
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Background in risk assessments, general information security, measuring and assessing IT Security Controls and for providing awareness content
  • Security certifications such as Security +, CISSP, CISA, or CISM
  • Strong knowledge of cyber security risk frameworks such as NIST
  • Ability to work across business units and geographical boundaries to engage team members
