Prof. Henri Lorach within an interdisciplinary team at UNIL is seeking a 1st Assistant with expertise in deep learning and brain computer interfaces to develop neuroprosthetic strategies to restore neurological functions.

Contract length: 1 year, renewable on agreement

Your responsibilities

The candidate will contribute to the development of Brain Computer Interfaces using non-invasive and invasive recording modalities towards various neuroprosthetic applications. In particular, towards the implementation of a digital bridge between the brain and the spinal cord to restore mobility after paralysis. The selected postdoctoral fellow will implement Large Language Models and similar deep learning strategies to model brain activity and test these models in several downstream tasks such as denoising, decoding and data augmentation.

Your qualifications

• A PhD degree in Computational Neuroscience or related field (required)


• Communication skills in English (required), French is a bonus


• Python programming, deep learning, neural signal processing techniques (required)


• Experience in large language models, multimodal learning, experimental data acquisition (desired)


• Scientific writing and interpersonal skills
