PhD Student
• Research in urban and regional economics and/or public economics. Among others current research projects include urban economics implications of the electrification of the road transport sector.
• Successful participation in the Swiss Program for Beginning Doctoral Students in Economics at Gerzensee (https://szgerzensee.ch). Attending a similar doctoral program in economics is also possible.
• Supporting the teaching activities in public economics, energy economics, and regional economics.
Master's degree in economics with above-average results.
• Sound knowledge of the theoretical foundations of economics and empirical methods.
• Excellent command of English is required; knowledge of German is highly recommended.
• Interest in econometric analyses using suitable statistical software (e.g. Stata, R, Julia, Matlab) and in economic policy issues.
• Comprehensive academic training at a renowned university combined with involvement in applied empirical economic research and intensive international experience.
• Participation in a structured doctoral program.
• Regular participation in international research conferences, frequent exchange with research institutions, and public administration.
• Fixed-term contract for four years. Remuneration of a 75%-100% position in accordance with the regulations of the University of Bern.
