Operations Associate

Who we're looking for

At Benchmark Capital, we are pleased to present a number of exciting opportunities to join our Platform Operations division as an Operations Associate. As a permanent employee, you will have the chance to join one of our dynamic teams, including Funding & Disbursements, Account Servicing, and Account Opens & Top-ups.

If you are a recent graduate, seeking a career change, or possess relevant industry experience that would be advantageous in any of these positions, we would be thrilled to receive your application.

We're proud of what we do, and this couldn't have been achieved without our people. At Benchmark, we actively seek innovative people from diverse backgrounds, who can bring a fresh approach to our business.

About Platform Operations

The platform operations business area is made up of several teams which support our high-quality financial advisers with the administration of their accounts on the Fusion platform.

Each of the teams perform a different function, however they also work closely together to ensure a best-in-breed adviser experience. The teams operate to tight deadlines and must adhere to specific service level agreements.

As an associate within platform operations, you will be required to complete multiple processes. You will need the ability to be able to work quickly, efficiently, and accurately to ensure avoidance of errors.

Benchmark is an ever-evolving business you will need to embrace change in a positive manner, and always look to seek to challenge processes with a view to driving efficiencies. This is a great opportunity for an individual who is willing to learn, and work as part of a team for a business that embraces change.

Who are we

Our award-winning, proprietary solutions cover regulatory, platform and investment services, and are designed to support advisers at every step of their journey – from starting and running a financial advice business more productively and effectively, to accelerating its growth and realising its value.

We support high quality financial advisers with our award-winning technology and support services.

And with our own Financial Advice business, we help families find solutions to meet their needs and aspirations and achieve peace of mind. By providing access to higher quality solutions, we make it easier for them to meet and exceed their goals.

Ensuring good client outcomes, with the client's interests central to decision making, is very important at Benchmark. Treating Customers Fairly principles are embedded within our organisation and we take responsibility for embracing and promoting our duty of care to all clients, including those who may be more vulnerable than others.

The base

You'll be based at our Schroders Campus near Horsham in West Sussex. We have the same high standards and international reputation as our HQ in the City of London, without being in the city: a big, countryside campus (and no commute on the Tube) means life feels a little different.

All of our roles are full time positions, and we operate a hybrid working pattern with a requirement for 3 days per week in the office. Our working hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

The knowledge, experience and skills we are looking for:

• Strong communicator with interpersonal skills who takes a wider interest in other activities on the team and business, offering support wherever possible.

• Attention to detail - Work in a methodical manner to avoid missing crucial details within your processes.

• Ability to follow procedures - Work in line with procedures, and challenge where necessary.

• Team player - Ability to develop and manage strong working relationships with global internal departments and external counterparties.

• Challenge the status quo - Always look for the opportunity to challenge processes or opinions if you feel things can be completed in a more effective way.

• Ability to process accurately - It is imperative that processes are executed in an accurate manner to avoid errors and risk events.

The knowledge, experience and skills that will help:

• Previous platform experience/Financial Services experience

• Studying towards industry exams

• Proficient in MS suite of application including Excel/Word/Powerpoint

What you'll be like

• Promoter of the Treating Customers Fairly principles and deliver your own responsibility for the duty of care our clients.

• Positive outlook – Possess a positive attitude, and act as a role model for others.

• Embrace change - Benchmark is forever evolving as a business, and there will be changes made to the business model.

• Pro-active - Source information independently and seek opportunities to improve processes or make positive change. Don't wait for things to happen.

• Confident - Approach whatever you are doing in a confident manner. Never be afraid to challenge or ask questions.

• Client focused – Always do what is right for the customer.

• Resilient - Benchmark is a diverse and complex business. You will need to be able to understand multiple processes and navigate the ever-changing landscape.

Recruitment process

If successful you will be invited to attend an assessment day at our Horsham office in July.
