Legal Counsel 80-100% (f/m/d)


Your responsibilities

  • Comprehensive legal support to local Business Units in all domestic and international legal aspects, in particular contract law

  • Protection and enforcement of company interests - in Switzerland and worldwide - in negotiation with third parties, in government proceedings and before state courts and arbitral tribunals

  • Ensuring compliance with the applicable laws and regulations and internal policies in various fields (in particular data privacy, antitrust, bribery & corruption)

  • Observation of legal trends and changes

  • Collaboration in interdisciplinary project teams, with specialists of the global Hitachi Energy Legal & Integrity team as well as with legal colleagues of other countries

  • Collaboration in Risk Management and other internal processes

  • Management and supervision of external law firms along quality and budget targets

  • Training of Hitachi Energy employees in all legal matters

Your background

  • Master degree in Law, preferably with additional qualifications acquired in the US or UK

  • Admitted to the Swiss bar (or proven experience with Swiss administrative / judicial institutions)

  • Legal generalist with experience in specific fields, such as contract law and, if possible, in labor law, data privacy and/or public procurement law

  • Approximately 5 years post-qualification working experience, preferably as an attorney-at-law in private practice or inhouse.

  • Open and able to closely collaborate with colleagues and teams of various cultures and disciplines around the world.

  • Ability to provide business-oriented solutions with a willingness to grow yourself and a strong team player spirit.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills

  • Fluent in German and English, French and/or Italian is an asset
