Electric and Avionics Engineer

The Electric and Avionics Engineer reports to Head of Aircraft Integration.
 

Your role

At an aircraft level, this role defines the electrical layout of the electrical propulsion components into aircraft and any other required avionics systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible of the integration of systems including the choice of components, the compatibility of interfaces and the drafting of electrical diagrams and identify the installation requirements of the systems.
  • Develop avionics system requirements, the electrical system architecture and interfaces with other aircraft systems.
  • Creation of  wiring diagrams, drawings and associated harnesses.
  • Prepare and validate aircraft level test plans and Functional Test Procedures (FTP), analyze results and to write reports.
  • Creation of compliance demonstration material such as Electrical Load Analysis, EMI/EMC report and Safety assessment.
  • Coordinate with avionics system suppliers in the development, integration and testing of displays, flight instruments, communication and navigation systems, sensor, vehicle health systems and vehicle management systems.
  • Support aircraft ground and flight testing if required.
  • Work alongside maintenance teams to capture their design feedback.
  • Support first article installation on aircraft.
  • Optimize cable sizing and routing to minimize weight
  • Ensure Electromagnetic compatibility of systems (ensuring best practices for EMC are maintained)
  • Ensuring manufacturability and integration of design
  • Monitor and complete problem reports and change requests.
  • Provide guidance and feedback to internal and external customers.
  • Review and validate supplier technical documentations.
  • Seek out and attend job related training opportunities.

Your Profile

  • University degree or 10+ years of experience in design and validation of electrical systems and assemblies
  • Familiar with FAA Advisory Circulars related to aircraft modification and maintenance.
  • Familiar with EASA Certification Specification on aircraft maintenance
  • Hands on experience with manufacturing or maintenance
  • Experience with certification documentation
  • Experience in AutoCAD Electrical or similar software
  • Experience with EWIS
  • Motivated self-starter
  • Organized and precise
  • Quality focused
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Fluent written and spoken English (French is beneficial).
