Head of Business Development - Europe (f/m/d)


We’re looking for top talent to join our team.

Reporting to the Region Head, Europe, and working together and in close collaboration with the regional and the country management teams, you will play a key role in understanding the main market trends in the region, identifying the possible areas of intervention, prioritizing them according to the Business Units’ global strategies and ensuring that specific initiatives are defined and implemented in the country Strategic Growth Plans.

Your responsibilities

  • Work with region and country colleagues to develop new business opportunities (especially energy transition, sustainability, digital) in line with global strategic priorities

  • Localize value propositions based on country specific ecosystem (market, regulatory) and Hitachi Energy applicable portfolio

  • Ensure relevant market & competitor analyses is systematically carried out, monitored, and reported

  • Map market requirements and opportunities to identify organic and inorganic growth opportunities, defining and executing regional partnerships

  • Build relationships with key external influencers, key customers and organizations and leverage Hitachi Energy’s strengths

  • Take a leading role in setting up and coordinating a systematic process for assurance of customer quality in collaboration with the country and business teams

  • Act as a sparring partner to the Region Head and management team for ideas and opportunities, also doing various ad-hoc tasks, analyses, and special projects

  • Coordinate and report on key activities with associations and technical working groups in the region, in liaison with the Government & Institutional Relations (GIR) function

Your background

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, business, or correlated relevant discipline

  • More than 10 years of experience in market development in target segments applications and channels, working with relevant products and technologies

  • Demonstrated experience in formulating and implementing strategic plans, performing market analysis, and focusing on areas for growth

  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with senior level stakeholders

  • A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach with strong communication skills
