Swiss Life Asset Managers is excited to announce a new opportunity for an ESG Engagement & Stewardship Intern (f/m/d), starting from May 2024. This role offers the chance to actively participate in the establishment and development of our ESG strategy in a dynamic and international working environment.

As an intern, you will join our recently established sub-team, Engagement & Stewardship, which is part of the divisional ESG team responsible for defining and implementing the ESG strategy across all business units, functions, and asset classes in all countries. This team coordinates all engagement and stewardship related activities throughout all relevant countries and the three major asset classes – securities, real estate, and infrastructure.

This position provides a detailed insight into the business and ESG active stewardship activities of Swiss Life Asset Managers. You will work alongside highly engaged and knowledgeable ESG / sustainable finance experts, gaining insights into a future-proof and strongly emerging field within the financial industry. We look forward to your contribution in strengthening the engagement and stewardship activities at Swiss Life Asset Managers.

Responsibilities

  • Support in the execution of engagement and voting activities on sustainability issues.
  • Support in the analysis of companies’ ESG profiles and the definition of engagement objectives, the monitoring and reporting of these activities.
  • Preparation of presentations and reports related to engagement and voting.
  • Support in the update of policies related to engagement and voting.
  • Organisation and execution of meetings.
  • Support with administrative tasks.

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree / Master’s degree preferably in economics, business administration, political sciences or other sustainability-related studies.
  • Some knowledge or experience of current sustainability concepts in asset management and in particular active stewardship for asset managers is an advantage.
  • Interest in the topic of sustainability and specifically on sustainable finance.
  • Strong soft skills and ability to work in an international corporate environment.
  • Hands on mentality and result-oriented working methods.
  • Quick comprehension and willingness to take on new tasks.
  • Independent and proactive.
  • Communication and teamwork skills.
  • Very good MS Office knowledge.
  • English language skills, German and French is an advantage
