The Position

As a Sub-Chapter Lead Measuring Methods (m/f/d) in Rotkreuz or Mannheim, you will be a part of the Point of Care (POC) System Development and Integration Organization. The POC R&D System Development and Integration (SDI) team is a diverse and dedicated group of engineers and scientists who are committed to ensuring that our product components are combined into a high-quality product. The Measuring Methods Subchapter consists of expert teams in Mannheim and Rotkreuz. As Sub-Chapter Lead, you lead a team that ensures the measuring methods are designed and developed, and the data strategy is developed for POC Development.

THE OPPORTUNITY

  • Develop and enhance the organization's expertise to meet future project needs and establish efficient processes for project implementation in the long term. (Current development projects supported by this team include projects in Dry Chemistry, Blood Gas & Electrolytes, Hospital Glucose and OnMarket activities)

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a network of specialists or managers, while overseeing the planning, control, and monitoring of the development budget, capacity, and costs of the department.

  • You are accountable for formulation of a vision for the department and support the development of business area strategies and corporate processes within the framework of projects

  • Establish and maintain close collaboration with interfacing groups, e.g. RED, CSI (biostatistics), CDMA, Customer area product management and IT/IT-implementing groups

  • Maintain a network of experts within Diagnostics, e.g. through Communities of Interest/Practice, and with external partners and universities/institutes in order to stay abreast with improved and new measuring methods in close alignment with RED

WHO YOU ARE

  • You have a master's degree in the natural sciences (physics or chemistry preferred) or a related field - ideally with a subsequent doctorate with at least 8-10 years of relevant professional experience in the research and development of diagnostic point-of-care systems

  • In addition to being a senior expert in optical and electrochemical methods, you possess strong knowledge in data handling, good understanding of system development and are familiar with transitioning between different interfaces.

  • You are an experienced VACC people leader with excellent team building and coaching skills with a strong interest in self and team development

  • You can demonstrate excellent knowledge of agile and traditional project management

  • Excellent communication skills in German and English are a given for you
