This role is responsible for acting as a catalyst for Lonza Biologics’ digital transformation journey. They will be responsible for building a strong informational and discovery foundation that informs and drives the development and execution of the digital transformation strategy. This role will be a cross-functional partner for supply chain, IT, marketing, sales, external vendors, and customers.

Key responsibilities:

  • Act as catalyst for quickly launching Lonza Biologics’ digital transformation strategy and systems, including implementing critical groundwork to build momentum like internal research/discovery, benchmarking, and competitive analysis
  • Evaluate the existing digital infrastructure, processes, technology, and ongoing existing digitalization programs/projects. Understand the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT analysis) associated with the current digital landscape.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders including marketing, commercial excellence, operations, IT, quality, sales, customers, and external vendors to build critical initial alignment and collaboration to support right-first-time and integrated business approach to build-out of digital transformation strategy
  • Use data to drive decisions and outcomes:

-Apply analytical skills to develop metrics and goals, identifying opportunities for efficiencies and measuring success

-Analyze current business practices and system to explore opportunities for automation and system enhancements (e.g. OTC)

-Use data to support the development and decision making around new integration uses cases, including business cases

-Monitor the competitive landscape to identify innovative solutions

  • Drive identification and execution of short-term wins for digital transformation for the Biologics business
  • Identify critical market and technology research outlets for digitalization best practices to support Lonza staying up to date on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices for the CDMO sector. Identify digital solutions and innovations that can positively impact the Biologics business.
  • Support development of Biologics customer personas as critical foundational component of a customer-centric digital transformation strategy that will identify how the vision and solution will impact the Lonza Biologics’ customer journey.
  • Identify list of potential partnerships with technology providers or research institutions that would be advantageous to Lonza Biologics’ digital transformation

Key requirements:

  • MBA preferred; Bachelors’ degree in Science, IT, Marketing or related field required
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Digital-native marketing experience preferred 
  • Experience in B2B e-commerce and digital best practices 
  • Experience in data mapping and data systems
  • Project management skills 
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Life Sciences/Biotech experience preferred but not required
  • Technical or digital-first background (e.g. IT, computer engineering) preferred
