The Position

Head of Campaigns

Group Communications (GC) is responsible for creating a lasting positive image of Roche and are representing the company's voice on a Group level: We communicate Roche’s strategy and how we deliver on our purpose of “Doing now what patients need next” to Roche colleagues and external audiences. We drive integrated and global campaigns and provide platforms for communications business partners as well as our affiliates to engage with audiences. We contribute to building trust of key stakeholders, to managing Roche’s brand and reputation and to building a favorable environment for our business. The Role

The Head of Campaigns is a senior level role in the newly-established Brand and Reputation Team.This role is global in scope, and will manage and coach a team of colleagues based in Basel and other global locations. You will have overall responsibility for developing, implementing, and launching a global campaign strategy, and bring best-in-class capabilities in creating, launching, and measuring global campaigns designed to make stakeholders want to engage with, work with and partner with Roche. You will report to the Global Head of Brand & Reputation, and be a member of the Brand and Reputation Leadership team.

Your Opportunities

  • You take ownership in campaign development, execution, and planning on key topics designed to raise awareness of Roche with traditional and new audiences

  • You lead a team of campaign leads and specialists

  • You harness campaigns to build brand awareness of Roche and to protect and enhance Roche’s reputation

  • You develop, socialise and implement a global campaign strategy and framework, designed to provide a unified approach to corporate campaigning at Roche

  • You provide Center of Excellence support and strategic advice to Pharma and Diagnostics Business Partner organisations

  • You lead campaign implementation, including defining themes, managing budget, identifying, in collaboration with other CoEs, an external engagement strategy designed to drive the most impact

  • You develop, implement, and report on KPIs for each campaign

  • You train, upskill, and coach colleagues across GC and communicators globally about best-in-class practices for corporate campaigning

Who you are

You have a university degree as well as significant experience in strategic communications in a fast paced environment. You possess excellent interpersonal skills and are comfortable working in a matrixed and multicultural environment. Additionally you bring the following skills and competencies:

  • You bring 10+ years of experience in communication preferably gained in a corporate environment or PR agency supporting healthcare clients plus 5 or more years of leadership experience.

  • You have a proven track record of developing and launching impactful campaigns on a corporate/global/local level, or in marketing campaigns around products or solutions.

  • You have experience in developing campaign strategies that are designed to drive maximum impact across multiple channels, and that can be re-porspused/re-used globally.

  • You bring a deep and broad background in campaign planning, including creative, financial, and how to harness digital media to drive exponential impact.

  • As an experienced communicator and a seasoned people leader and leader of leaders you role model a servant and creative leadership style, motivated by our shared purpose, providing vision, inspiration and catalyzing the organization to deliver communications excellence and value.

  • You bring the ability to coach a team of high performing employees, enabling performance that delivers collective value beyond their individual contributions. You are able to build and lead diverse teams, develop talent and create a culture that is transparent and value-driven to accelerate the personal growth of employees.

  • You demonstrate abilities to develop and manage large-scale global communications strategies, plans, activities and teams.

  • You demonstrate excellent executive impact: Ability to present with integrity and presence as a spokesperson, communicator, mediator and presenter.

  • You have a track record of presenting to and coaching senior company executives/audiences and contributing to influencing their decision-making.

  • You are fluent in English (verbal and written); other languages are an advantage.

Basel is the primary location. Additional locations can be considered at manager's discretion.
