Research Project Manager

The general Project Manager responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Develop a detailed project plan to track progress.
  • Lead project teams with multi-disciplinary internal resources and customers for the execution of customer projects according to the project plan.
  • Support the definition of research questions and analysis plans
  • Identify, analyse and mitigate project risks in a timely manner and escalate issues to line managers
  • Ensure that the assigned projects are delivered according to customer satisfaction (on-time, within scope, budget and requirements).
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders to build mutually beneficial results.
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.
  • Communicate and report project progress, major risks, issues and changes to plan; escalate to management as needed in a timely manner.
  • Support regulatory documentation and quality reviews.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Master's degree in Natural Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Ability to lead smaller to medium teams including resources and time planning, progress tracking, status updates
  • Knowledge in effort estimation and project planning for smaller to medium projects
  • Strong sense of communication and being able to transfer information between technical and non-technical teams.
  • Good knowledge of stakeholder management to ensure opinions are considered
  • Able to lead by example
  • Knowledge in conflict management, able to identify conflict situations and discuss solutions with senior members
  • Knowledge in scope management, able to Identify change requests and scope creeps and escalates to senior members.
  • Good knowledge of project risk management, able  to identify common project risks and to mitigate or escalate them to senior members
  • Understands project management processes
  • Good understanding of cloud-based software and SaaS
  • 1+ years of experience in managing research projects, including data acquisition, data clean up and data analysis
  • Strong ability to work remotely and affinity to work with online tools
  • Sound Background in regulatory compliance for medical devices (MDR / FDA) is a plus
  • Background in data science or statistics is a plus
  • Background knowledge in Ophthalmology is a plus
