Our unit Gas Insulated Switchgears (GIS), based in Zürich-Oerlikon, is active in the development and production of gas insulated switching systems. We ensure the high reliability of our systems by using state-of-the-art development tools and methods.

Join our team in the R&D department for gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) as a (Senior) Engineer High Voltage Switchgear 80-100% (f/m/d)

You will act as the technical conscience of our GIS product portfolio by being responsible for our product master data.

You will work at the intersection of technology, product development and production of high voltage switchgear. You will work and be integrated in a team of experts in the field of high voltage switchgear technologies and thus have the possibility to extend and deepen your knowledge.

Your responsibilities

  • Managing of small development projects

  • Responsibility for products from our GIS portfolio

  • Elaboration of innovative product solutions following standards, design rules, guidelines, and internal processes.

  • Ensure quality of suppliers, production locations and parts

  • Collaborate with globally distributed partners e.g. R&D Centers, Product Management, Supply Chain Management, Production Lines, Sales.

  • Analyze and solve interdisciplinary problems in test laboratories and in production lines.

Your background

  • Mechanical engineer, electrical engineer, physicist or closely related fields with at minimum a Master’s degree or a Bachelor’s degree with at least two years of experience in a related field

  • Apprenticeship as a designer is a plus

  • High voltage switchgear experience is desirable but not a must

  • Ability to work well in a multicultural, multidisciplinary and globally distributed team.

  • Creative, independent and solution-oriented approach

  • Software skills or open to acquiring them (MS Office, 3D CAD, ERP, …)

  • Good knowledge of English and German
