Internship - Data Analytics for roadside assistance

Touring Club Switzerland (TCS) is Switzerland’s leading mobility organization dedicated to ensuring that its members have a safe and pleasant experience. One of our focuses is to help travelers on routes when problems with their vehicles occur, whether that may be in the car, on a bike or in a camper. The intervention time is critical for the travelers because their time plan is disrupted. To optimize that critical point, we want to optimize the holding positions for our patrollers that will assist the travelers, to be optimal positioned in their area on the specific day to minimize the intervention time.

With a keen focus on cycling, TCS promotes bike safety through a variety of initiatives. From providing real-time traffic warnings to road assistance for bikers, TCS plays a pivotal role in enhancing the biking experience in Switzerland.

Your challenges during the Internship

In this 6-months internship, you will work on a project aimed at collecting and combining data and models on traffic expectations, our own intervention data, to build a model to plan on a daily basis for the positions of our patrollers in Switzerland.

• Review the aim of the internship and create a concept
• Create a User Journey and work with our UI/UX experts to create a prototype
• Gather and analyze data and AI Models available within TCS
• Define a model to predict the ideal holding positions
• Calibrate and validate your model with existing data or with new implantation
• Work with big data sets and potential AI tools
• Be part of our dynamic Digital Services Team and the Assistance Team
• Creat a user application as your MVP

This will help you get started

• Know-how of design thinkin
• Software engineering and programming
• Interest AI and Data Science in General
• Strong proficiency in English; knowledge of German and/or French advantageous
