Presentation

The Department of Biomedical Sciences of the University of Lausanne invites applications for a lab technician position in Prof. Fanny Langlet's research group. The Langlet lab works on the role of peculiar glial cells named tanycytes in regulating energy balance and aims to decipher the molecular mechanisms underlying tanycyte/neural cell communications and their impact on mouse physiology. Expected start date in position: 01.09.2024
Contract length: 1-year, renewable
Activity rate: 100%
Workptace: DSB - Rue du Bugnon 7, 1005 Lausanne


Your responsibilities

The successful candidate will work on different lab projects. The main experimental approaches will include basic molecular biology techniques (isolation of proteins, RNA and DNA, Western blots, qPCRs), primary cell culture, mouse physiology, and fluorescent microscopy. He/She will be in charge of ordering


Your qualifications

Your qualifications
o Experience in cell culture (especially primary cell culture), molecular biology, and/or microscopy;
o Experience in mouse physiology
o Collaborative attitude and good interpersonal skills;
o Very good organizational skills, project and time management skills;
o Proactive approach to achieving tasks and objectives;
o Good spoken and written English
