We are looking for an experienced Operational Risk & Reporting Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to handle a variety of challenging tasks related to operational risk and regulatory reporting. You will be responsible for ensuring effective monitoring and management of regulatory reporting, operational risk KPIs, and helping to mitigate operational risk incidents. You will work closely with our local COO and other key stakeholders to continuously improve control processes and drive improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Ensures effective 1st line of defense to monitor & manage regulatory reporting, operational risk KPIs and help mitigate operational risk incidents
- Oversee and delivers operational risk KPI matrix to track BAU performance and identify potential gaps
- Analyze key risk data and work with business areas to identify error root causes, material risks and control issues and continuously improve control processes
- Challenge processes and behaviors within the wider operational structure
- Ensure local oversight of Risk Events, analysis of root causes, identified patterns, validation of all corrective actions and procedural updates
- Develop effective working relationships with key stakeholders internally within the Bank and externally (Auditors, Regulators etc.)
- Ensure high quality reviews of control standards and their implementation
- Drive, promote and monitor continuous improvement in the Risk Culture across all areas in the Swiss Bank
- Ensure ongoing regulatory compliance, operational efficiency and adherence to business procedures across regulatory & risk reporting landscape
- To monitor and track audit requirements (both internal & external) related to regulatory & risk reporting and follow up with the respective departments and mitigate Risk
- Review and improve SLA documentation and KPI universe for outsourced services
Skills and knowledge
- Data analysis & manipulation (Excel, SQL)
- Solid understanding of securities products incl. derivatives
- Prior experience in risk/regulatory/reporting role advantageous
- Good working knowledge of operational risk frameworks and processes (e.g. Non-Financial Risk Management/NFRM)
- Strong team player and communicator with ability to work with multiple cross-functional and diverse teams
- Self-starter with little need of oversight
- Ability to translate complex business & regulatory requirements into resilient operational practice
- Ability to monitor, handle and contextualise multi-dimensional data landscape
- Ability to challenge the status quo and lead improvement initiatives for processes, systems and policies
- Strives in dynamic operating environment with tight deadlines
- Experience with change projects ideally with a financial services institution
Qualifications
- Completed university degree preferably in business/economics/finance
- 5-10 years experienced in Risk function
- Alternatively vocational training with a financial institution combined with relevant work experience
- Excellent written and spoken English
- CH work permit
