Hiring Associate Engineer, Structures - Luzern, CH

Aurora Swiss Aerospace is an engineering center of expertise, specializing in advanced aircraft. We are searching for a talented and self-motivated Associate Engineer to help us create the future of flight. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

Our contributions to the aerospace industry include the world-record breaking Orion aircraft, the first fully autonomous helicopter (AACUS), a flying taxi, underwater vehicles, a solar-powered airplane, and many more. In this role, you will be part of a highly collaborative environment in which you will work independently on a multi-disciplinary team to design and develop these systems. As such, candidates must have excellent communication and organizational skills and the desire to take on new tasks and develop new skills.

We Are Seeking Individuals With:

• A strong academic record.

• A demonstrated passion for aviation and aerospace (e.g. research projects, student organizations, student competitions, etc.).

  • Candidates must be eligible to work in Switzerland with a valid Swiss passport or work permit or should be an EU/EFTA national with a valid passport to enable work permit application.
  • Fluent in English: verbal and written. Additional languages would be an advantage.
  • B.S. degree in Engineering from an accredited university
  • Knowledge in one of the disciplines listed below:

Flight Physics

Experience in the design and analysis of air-vehicles at various levels of engineering fidelity.

Demonstrated ability to use programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, or C++.

Aerostructures

Design: Knowledge of 3D Computer Aided Design Programs such as CATIA, NX (Unigraphics), CREO (Pro/E) or SolidWorks.

Analysis: Base understanding of statics, solid mechanics, and free body diagrams.

Mechanical Systems and Propulsion

Knowledge in aerospace vehicle subsystems.

Knowledge in development of propulsion systems.

Knowledge of 3D Computer Aided Design Programs such as CATIA, NX (Unigraphics), CREO (Pro/E) or SolidWorks.

Electronic Systems and Power

Knowledge in aerospace vehicle electronics, power distribution, wiring and harness design

knowledge in wired and wireless vehicle communication systems

Simulation and test of electronics at bench or system level

Analysis and application of avionics systems and components

Electrical and electronic circuit design, including utilization of schematic, PCB, and 3D design tools and/or simulation and modeling tools

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and written.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
