A great opportunity exists as a Strategy Manager reporting to Head of Strategy and Strategic Execution. As the Strategy Manager you’ll support and guide Zurich Australia & New Zealand in growing, deepening our relationships with customers, improving the experience for customers/members and advisers/brokers and ultimately providing peace of mind to more Australians.

You will have the opportunity to interact with all areas of the local General, Life & Investments business, regional teams and global corporate centre and other countries as well as our Board and executive team. Your role will include gathering relevant external and internal insights, identifying and assessing opportunities, designing solutions, managing stakeholders, driving alignment and delivery of strategic solutions and capabilities where required.

More specifically:

  • Contribute to the 3-year strategic planning cycle and annual refresh of the Zurich AU & NZ strategy
  • Assist with the cascade, alignment, communication and continuous improvement of Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) within our business
  • Contribute to alignment with and leverage of Zurich Group and APAC region insights and strategies
  • Analyse and report on external market conditions, trends and opportunities and share with the business through ‘quarterly insights’ (or similar)
  • Assess business development opportunities (including M&A)
  • Champion innovation within Zurich, locally and together with Zurich Group
  • Assist with monitoring and tracking execution to strategy through OKRs, together with the Strategic Execution team
  • Provide strategic support to key leaders across the business and lead/contribute to specific project-based initiatives

In order to be successful, you will have the following:

  • At least 5 years in financial services, preferably insurance. Experience in corporate strategy or consulting will be looked on favourably
  • Strong problem-solving skills, strategic thinking skills and a growth mindset, which will equip you to work independently and navigate ambiguity
  • Strong motivation and ‘self starter’ attitude
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills to forge trusted stakeholder relationships and build networks across multiple levels in the business in Australia and NZ and more broadly across the Group
  • Excellent analytical skills including – data analysis, commercial investigations and generating insights
  • Proven experience in managing multiple initiatives, prioritising tasks to execute on key deliverables
  • Strong PowerPoint and presentation skills and comfortable facilitating workshops
  • Experience working in an agile environment will be helpful, but not mandatory
  • Prior involvement in digital, AI and / or technology strategy work desirable
