As R&D Team Leader for Transformer Components and Services, Bushings Team, you will be working on defined R&D projects. In addition, you will lead a team of highly motivated R&D engineers in our Zurich-Altstetten location who develop modern technologies and products for Transformer Bushings portfolio. You will be supported by a global R&D community including Technology Centers and Research Centers worldwide.

Your responsibilities
In your role as a Team Lead
Oversee R&D projects, ensuring successful execution within budget, time, and scope
Distribute tasks, mentor the team, and cultivate an innovative environment
Manage resources, including budget and personnel, and drive efficient processes for increased productivity
Collaborate across internal (Tech, Product, R&D, Engineering) & external (universities, partners) teams to drive co-creation
Champion people development within the team, utilizing established Hitachi Energy tools and fostering growth opportunities
In your role as a Senior Engineer
Develop and implement new technologies and products in high voltage insulating components, collaborating across R&D and various functions
Lead development projects independently, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and high-quality delivery
Design and develop innovative technologies using FEA tools and manage prototyping and testing to validate concepts
Bridge R&D findings to production (local & global) & support other departments technically
Drive future tech for bushings via ideation, scouting & standards bodies (IEC, IEEE)
Your background
Master's or bachelor's degree in engineering or applied sciences
More than 5 years working experience, preferably in the energy industry
Bushing's technology and manufacturing knowledge, as well as hands on experience of larger and multi-year projects will be considered a plus
Excellent communication, coaching and conflict resolution skills and a strong understanding of management and leadership principles
Ability to analyze processes and information, identify problems and trends, and develop effective solutions and strategies
Experience with FEM simulation tools (e.g. Ansys, COMSOL) is an important asset
Proficiency in the use of CAD tools (e.g. Creo Pro/E), Windchill, SAP is considered as a plus
Fluent in English
