How can you make a difference?

  • Deliverable 1: 40 due diligence research reports estimated average.
  • Deliverable 2: Timely to upload 40 recordings of all reports in the UNICEF due diligence database within 10 working days for regular due diligence analysis and 2 working days for emergency research requests.
  • Deliverable 3: Dissemination of due diligence research reports; research reports on external trends and developments; and impact prospecting updates (8 updates/month estimated in various formats, e.g., briefing note inputs, presentations, etc.)
  • Deliverable 4: one report against deliverable targets.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Education:

• first-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree or above) in communication, marketing, journalism, public relations or business administration, and other relevant fields is required.

Experience:

• A minimum of two years of progressive experience in the following fields: in corporate social responsibility, market research, reporting, or other related fields is required.

• Experience in developing high-quality, polished communication products targeted at private and corporate audiences, preferably in the international development arena, is required.

• Experience with research, analysis, and partner due diligence is highly desirable.

Language:

• Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another UN official language is an asset.

Others:

Required:

• Ability to identify strategic issues, opportunities, and risks and communicate broad and compelling organizational direction.

• Attention to detail and track record of delivering against objectives.

• Ability to work remotely with alignment to the Geneva time zone.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to capture key points and actions in succinct formats for a variety of audiences.

• Computer literacy in standard applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, etc.).

Assets:

• Understanding corporate engagement dimensions within or outside of UNICEF. • Understanding of non-profit management and the UN system.

Remarks:

The application should include a cover letter, and a work sample. Sample works can include due diligence reports, position papers, or briefing notes. At least one sample of previous work must be provided. Applications submitted without at least one sample of work and a cover letter will not be considered.

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.

The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
