To support the West and Central Africa Regional Office (WCARO) and the East and South Africa Regional Office (ESARO) in activities related to the test program carried out by Think Digital Ltd. This need arises from a gap between an ongoing interim solution and a delayed long-term solution for United Nations Volunteers (UNVs). ESARO requires further assistance as their test program is about to commence and the long-term solution UNVs is not yet implemented there.

How can you make a difference?

Scope of Work:

• Serve as the main contact point between Regional Offices and Think Digital Ltd. on a daily basis.

• Assist in establishing internal processes and systems to ensure they are fit for purpose (e.g., Facebook Business Manager, Google Analytics).

• Source raw content for use in META universe.

• Provide feedback and approved paid marketing assets for Think Digital Ltd.

• Translates English assets when necessary. Set up donor communication in GGPX and MailJet, using content provided by the Regional Office. Analyse and propose optimizations for digital fundraising campaign Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and results in collaboration with Think Digital Ltd.

Work Assignments Overview & Deliverables

  • Provide feedback and sign off on paid marketing assets for submission to the agency.

Signed off Marketing Assets: Feedback provided, and final approval of paid marketing assets obtained each month.

Monthly Reports: June, July, August, September, October, November, and with a summary report by the end of December.

  • Provide support in setting up internal processes and systems to ensure they are fit for purpose for ESARO.

Systems Operational:

(a) Develop progress reports (June, July, August).

(b) Complete implementation of fully functional internal systems, verified through user acceptance testing by the end of August

  • Source raw content.

Raw Content for META Universe: Acquisition of raw content pieces suitable for integration into the META Universe.

Monthly Reports: June, July, August, September, October, November, with a summary report by the end of December.

  • Analyze and propose optimizations for the digital fundraising campaign.

KPIs and results, in collaboration with Think Digital Ltd: A comprehensive report detailing current digital fundraising campaign KPIs, with data-driven optimization proposals, developed in partnership with Think Digital.

Monthly Reports: June, July, August, September, October, November, with a summary report by the end of December.

  • Set up donor communication in GGPX and MailJet for ESARO, using content provided by the Regional Office.

(a) Prepare thank you and welcome emails for readiness.

(b) Basic donor communication is set up in MailJet according to an agreed donor communication cycle for 12 months, along with thank you and welcome emails in GGPX.

Minimum Qualifications required*:

Education:

• first-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree or above) in marketing, business administration, and other relevant fields is required.

Knowledge/Expertise/Skills required *:

• A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in digital marketing, or other related fields.

• Proven experience in using UNICEF’s systems for fundraising. I.e. GGPX

• Previous experience with UNICEF includes familiarity with their methods for producing digital marketing assets, including adherence to the organization’s guidelines for content production.

• Experience working in an international environment is an asset.

Language:

• Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another UN official language is an asset.

Other Skills:

• Flexibility and ability to work independently and as a team player with a range of constituents and colleagues at varying levels.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, both written and verbal is an asset.

• Must possess a strong work ethic, have confidence, take initiative and be an enthusiastic team player.

Remarks:

Please indicate your all-inclusive (lump sum) fees in USD against the deliverables listed above. If there is a need for business travel, the travel costs will be covered by UNICEF separately. The office selects the individual based on best value for money.

1 Costs indicated are estimated. Final rate shall follow the “best value for money” principle, i.e., achieving the desired outcome at the lowest possible fee. Consultants will be asked to stipulate all-inclusive fees, including lump sum travel and subsistence costs, as applicable.

Payment of professional fees will be based on submission of agreed deliverables. UNICEF reserves the right to withhold payment in case the deliverables submitted are not up to the required standard or in case of delays in submitting the deliverables on the part of the consultant.

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted and advance to the next stage of the selection process.

Individuals engaged under a consultancy will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants. Consultants are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.

The selected consultant is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected consultant are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. The vaccine mandate, does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
