Sustainability Specialist

Your team

Pictet Alternative Advisors SA (PAA) is a leading European alternative investment specialist with expertise in manager selection and portfolio management in Private Equity, Real Estate, Hedge Funds and Private Debt. PAA is an independent unit of the Pictet Group managing over USD 30 billion.

The Group has strong development ambitions for PAA over the coming years. It recently developed a first-class direct Private Equity Real Estate franchise (PERE) and a direct Private Equity franchise (PE) and endeavours to expand its product offering in additional asset classes as well as to further develop its institutional client base.

In this context of strong growth, PAA is looking to hire a Sustainability Specialist to further strengthen our Sustainability team and drive our ambitions. The full-time position will be based in Geneva and will report to the Senior Sustainability Manager.

Your role

  • Support the design and implementation of ESG integration frameworks for alternative assets.

  • Partner with investment teams to conduct ESG due diligence and ownership activities with a primary focus on direct and co-investments across private equity and/or real estate (depending on business needs).

  • Build and maintain models and tools to enhance ESG data availability, visualization and reporting.

  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative ESG data analysis to produce relevant investment insights.

  • Lead internal and external ESG-related reporting and disclosure requirements (e.g., client requests, SFDR, GRESB, SBTi).

  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders (e.g., ESG data and service providers, etc.).

  • Conduct ESG-related training to foster awareness and build skills and capabilities across the firm.

  • Interact with key stakeholders and decision makers across PAA and the wider Pictet Group to drive the agenda.

  • Stay abreast of current and emerging ESG trends and regulations in the private equity and/or real estate sectors.

Your profile

  • Relevant degree (preferably Master’s degree) in engineering or other scientific, economics or finance discipline.

  • At least five years of professional experience in sustainability, including at least three years of experience within commercial real estate, private equity and/or corporate setting.

  • Strong understanding of ESG-related regulations (e.g., SFDR) applicable to the asset management industry and sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., GRESB, CSRD).

  • Experience with greenhouse gas accounting and climate frameworks applicable to private equity or commercial real estate (e.g., SBTi, PCAF, GHG Protocol, CRREM) acquired in an investment firm, corporate or consulting setting.

  • Experience with Python or R for data analytics and Power BI – or willingness to learn.

  • Excellent project management skills with strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks in a dynamic work environment.

  • Excellent analytical and communication skills in English, both written and spoken; French would be a plus.

  • Results-driven, entrepreneurial spirit and ability to manage a fast-paced environment.

  • Must be resident in Switzerland or willing to relocate.

As the chosen candidate, you have a strong enthusiasm for sustainability and are motivated by the possibility of driving change. You are keen to develop in an environment that allows you to put your skills into practice in a context of ambitious growth. On top of your professional skills, you have a strong sense of ethics, integrity and a team mindset.
