With the impact of climate change and other ESG issues coming ever more starkly into focus, governments, investors, and businesses are under increasing pressure to take rapid and decisive action.

EY’s Strategy and Transactions (SaT) practice specializes in helping clients navigate through renewed physical and regulatory complexity, reimagine their eco-systems, reshape their portfolios, stabilize their businesses, and reinvent themselves for a better future.
To that end, we are looking to grow our Switzerland SaT Sustainability practice with two (Senior) Consultants in Geneva and Zurich who will be a core member of the team. This is an exciting time to join a new team within the wider EY organization.

Your key responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and implementing holistic sustainability strategies for our clients;
  • Contribute to our business development effort, go-to-market activities and promotion of the SaT Sustainability offering in Switzerland;
  • Provide high-quality research, data collection, and analysis on relevant sustainability topics;
  • Draft reports and presenting findings to clients, team members, and stakeholders;
  • Engage closely with clients to understand their sustainability targets and identify areas for improvement;
  • Support project management by tracking project performance, managing timely deliverables, and maintaining project documentation;
  • Stay updated on latest trends, technologies, and regulations related to sustainability;
  • Facilitate workshops/training sessions to promote sustainability awareness and education;
  • Respond to clients' requests for information about sustainability-related initiatives;
  • Navigate the complex regulatory landscape (including EU Taxonomy, CSRD, TCFD, etc.).

Skills and attributes for success

  • A proven interest in sustainability;
  • A strong academic background including a bachelor's degree, preferably in sustainability, climate change, business with a focus in sustainability, or a related field;
  • At least 2 years of related professional experience, with a sustainability strategy consulting background, or corporate sustainability experience;
  • Previous experience of ESG due diligence, transaction advisory or strategic transformation;
  • Understanding of the sustainability regulatory landscape (including EU Taxonomy, CSRD, TCFD, etc.) and methodological initiatives (GHG Protocol, EU PEF, SBTi, Planetary Boundaries…);
  • Solid understanding of sustainability issues corporations are facing, and a strategic mindset;
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills;
  • A dedication to teamwork;
  • Innate drive, demonstrating a high level of initiative and the ability to navigate new ideas and challenges;
  • Ability to draft clear, concise, and comprehensive reports;
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment;
  • Candidates must be fluent English and French speakers for our Geneva vacancy, andEnglish and German speakers for our Zurich vacancy.
